Bertazzoni appliances in Bristol
Six generations of Italian cookers
Italian range cookers made by the same name since 1882. Heavy, colourful and built to be the centrepiece of a kitchen rather than to disappear into it.
About Bertazzoni
Guastalla sits in the Emilia-Romagna food valley, between Parma and Modena, and that is where Bertazzoni has made cookers since 1882. The company is still owned by the Bertazzoni family, now in the sixth generation.
The range cooker is what they are known for. Heavy doors, solid metal knobs, brass burners and a choice of colours most manufacturers will not touch, including red, orange, yellow, white and black. There are three main lines. Professional has commercial-kitchen styling, Master is a cleaner modern look, and Heritage is styled after the cookers the company built in the early 1900s. Widths run from a standard 60cm up to 120cm, and ovens, hobs, hoods, dishwashers and refrigeration are made to match.
This is a cooker you plan a kitchen around, and it carries a premium price. It needs the width, the right gas or electrical supply and, in most cases, a proper extractor above it. Worth seeing in person before you commit to a colour.
